The oldest and largest State Park is 50 miles northeast of Las Vegas. This area is round about 46 acres huge.

Red Spring, spills from the base of the Calico Hills, and provide for the life in the desert. The 0.55 mile boardwalk around the spring is a beautiful place to watch plants and animals.

A short hiking trail, very easy to walk, leads to a cliff with historic petroglyphs.

Red Rock is about 17 miles west of Las Vegas and 'lives up to its name'.

Charleston Peak, known as Mount Charleston, is the highest mountain in Nevada with 11.916 ft.

The Desert Wildlife Refuge is the largest refuge in the USA outside of Alaska. It's managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. It is north of Las Vegas.
