The oldest and largest State Park is 50 miles northeast of Las Vegas. This area is round about 46 acres huge.

The red sandstone formations, that formed 150 million years ago, gave it its name.

The area has been inhabited since 300 BC. The first people there has been the basket makers, later the Anasazi Indians.

You should plan at least half a day for visit.

Depending on the time of the day the valley glows in different colors, red, pink or yellow.

The best time for a visit is between end of September till early June. In the summer the temperature can rich 117 ° F easily.
