Nevada, the Silver State of the USA

Nevada joined the United States in 1864 às the 36th state. It's the seventh largest state by area. The capital isn't Las Vegas, as many assume. The capital is Carson City.

The first Europeans to explore the region were Spanish. They named the region after the Spanish word for snow, because the snow covered mountains remember them to the Sierra Nevada in Spain. Nevada  is also known as the Silver State. Beside South Africa and Australia Nevada has the richest gold deposits, S well as significant silver deposits.

All for the Country is the state motto.

Geographically, Nevada is characterized by the high deset. Pine and also Juniper trees are common in the higher areas.

The most important economic factor in Nevada is tourism. This state has a reputation for its libertarian laws. Legalized gambling and lenient marriage and divorce laws transformed Nevada into a major tourist destination.

 

Weather and climate in Nevada

Gate to the hell in summer, pleasantly mild in the winter, that's the easiest way to discribe the weather.

The coldest months are December and January, dry heat over 90°F in the summer month from May to September. In between is the optimal travel time with pleasant temperatures during the day to explore the nature.
